Singles Travel – Traveler

For six glorious days, cruise past spectacular alpine vistas, through quaint mountain towns, and beside meadows of Rocky Mountain wildflowers. Crystal clear alpine lakes nestled in secluded valleys beckon cyclists to cool off in their invigorating waters. Natural mineral hot springs will soothe tried muscles. A bicycle tour is the ideal way to truly appreciate the natural splendor of Kootenay Country in the British Columbia interior.
Day 1:
The group meets in Banff, and is transported to beautiful Lake Louise, there the cycling starts. The journey begins with a ride across the Great Divide into British Columbia and exhilarating coast down Kicking Horse Pass. We'll spend the first night in Revelstoke, at a cozy Bed & Breakfast.
Day 2 & 3:
Cycling down the spectacular Columbia River Valley to Upper Arrow Lake where we cross by ferry at Shelter Bay. Round off the day by pampering your body with a soak in the natural hot spring at Halcyon. After a morning climb on day three, we are rewarded with a swim and a picnic, then it is downhill to New Denver. Tonight we'll enjoy a delicious dinner at our bed and breakfast on the shores of Slocan Lake.
Days 4 & 5:
Leaving Slocan Lake, we'll cycle over the Selkirk Mountains, stopping hallway up the pass for a visit to Sandon, a ghost town that thrived during the silver-mining era. Upon reaching the summit of the Selkirks, riders coast on a 27km descent to beautiful Kaslo on the shores of Kootenay Lake. Tonight we'll enjoy the therapeutic hot springs and steaming underground caves of Ainsworth. The next day takes riders around Kootenay Lake, with plenty of secluded coves and sandy beaches for swimming and sunbathing, all with a stunning Purcell and Selkirk Mountain backdrop.
Day 6:
A morning ride through orchard country to Creston followed by a van transfer to Banff brings an end to an unforgettable week.
Cycling average: 60km/42 miles day
