How to Pick Up at a Singles Event Winnipeg

Jun 30, 2010 No Comments »

About to go on your first singles event, Winnipeg singles? Or have you already been on a few, but struck out in terms of meeting people? Well, there’s good news and better news. The good news is that even if you strike out at a singles event, you still win by having a new experience doing whatever great activity that event involved. The better news is that you won’t strike out again if you follow some of these popular tips.

First impressions are important

When making a first impression at a singles event Winnipeg, the important thing to do is establish yourself as someone the other people will want to spend time with during the event. If you get a chance, ask a question to the person running the event, loud and clear, that both introduces you to everyone else and establishes how much fun you are. It doesn’t even have to be a great question, because all you want is to have the floor for a second.

Spread yourself around

The key to most pick up situations is to play push pull a little, and singles events are no different Winnipeg. What a lot of people don’t understand though is how the push part actually works. The idea is that after holding a good conversation for a moment or two, and establishing a basic connection, you want to walk away. When you do this, be sure to have a reason to go so they don’t think you are simply bored of them, and give them a very clear invitation to approach you again before the event is done. Give yourself time to do this with everyone at the event if possible, and not just those you are interested in.

Say goodbye

A big issue people have at singles events, Winnipeg, is that they don’t know how to leave things. Actually going up to the people you like and saying goodbye is the only practical way to go. “So, how was your first time playing pool?” you say at the end of a billiards night. “If you want a practice buddy, you should get in touch some times.” The nice thing about that is they are left with a clear invitation to offer a phone number, or ask for yours. If they take it your gold.
