- Fit, active, old fashioned values. New friends are a blessing I wouldn't pass up. Although ultimately looking for a long term relationship, I find it's not something we have much control over. Important to have a strong friendship at the foundation anyway. I'd like to share active lifestyle- mind, body, spirit. I'm a sport & fitness professional, competitive athlete and business owner. For work I coach, write and speak. I relax/recharge with the arts/museums/reading (I paint a little, enjoy art and live music, but don't actually go out a lot through the year- I am constantly learning or feeding on the beautiful- you need quality input to get consistent quality output), outdoor activities like hiking and cross country skiing (stretch the legs expand the lungs- I do spend time outdoors every week, but don't seem to get enough hiking etc... in. My goal is to hike the 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks by the time I'm 46- I'm 37 and have done 5), ballroom dance (so much easier with a partner, but I don't stay at home just because I don't have a partner) and quality time with family and friends (investing in relationships meaningful to me- I'd rather have one quality friend than a dozen of acquaintances- I don't do flings or games.)
I have an active faith life (Christian) that underpins & gives meaning to everything else.
I do not watch TV. I try and live every day enjoy the 4 limbs and 5 senses I'm blessed to have. Since life isn't about 'eat drink and be merry', I'm also fortunate to find a lot of meaning in my work and wholeness for mind, body, soul, spirit, emotions in my spiritual practice and relationships.
other things I enjoy doing: tennis, golf (in good company, not by itself), wine tasting, walking my dog in the woods, snowshoing, working with horses. Live music, especially bluegrass, country, folks, celtic, classical.
If you think we have some things in common, it would be great to hear from you.
Looking to at least share common interests for friendship. Romance/Long term partnership would depend on common values. I believe friendship is worth investing in. If it leads to more, that can be a bonus, but why put too much pressure on. 'Nothing ventured nothing gained'. I don't get involved with anyone with unclosed previous chapters in their life or who is in rebound.
I'm not so concerned about age, geography or whether you have kids (I don't). Shared lifestyle and values are more important.
