single parent - new member Ottawa

I've never been to an event but I hope to get to one in the near future. Just wondering if there are any other single parents out there (male or female) that find the time to go and enjoy themselves but that also enjoy getting out with other single parents and their kids. I'm 39 years old and have 2 kids, 6 and 5. To be honest, I'm a little camera shy at first and would have a hard time going to an event alone.

I read Tobie Mangione's message and am wondering how things are going...
