Pub Crawl

What a blast!

I had such a great time touring around with you guys on Saturday at the pub crawl. It was such a great way to get to know a group of new friends. I have never been on a pub crawl before, but it was interesting how easy it was to mix things up and talk with everyone. By the end of the evening, it felt like we were all good buddies!

We met each other at the first pub, at the Vancouver Library (ate). Then we walked to the next pub and mixed things up as we were walking (transportation was included you know). At this point, we have picked up our group mastcot, a plastic pink flamingo with no legs jammed between two daily newspaper paper boxes. We arrived at the next pub, The Dog Haus, (ate)--tables mixed up so now we are sitting with different people--very good, very good. Then we walked on to the next pub, of course, stopping for one of Laura's fun street games (I will leave that to your imagination) - lost Trish for a moment (7-11 gum emergency), ultimately arriving safely at the Yaletown brew pub (ate AGAIN). By this point, we are a little toasty, pretty much stuffed and feeling like we'd known each other for years (okay--maybe DAYS)!! We have been meeting lots of people in the bars as we go because we were given the challenge of finding a male nurse or a female engineer before the night ended. A task that I worked very hard at but alas, victory fell to another (congratulations Kate!). The last stop of the evening was Bar None, unfortunately, I had to miss that part of the evening as a Christmas sing-a-long down the street desperately needed my "ivory-tickling" skills. I do hope there wasn't more food at Bar None!! Laura reported that the last stop of the evening was as fabulous as the rest of it. Of course (sigh).

Even though I missed the end of the evening (which is very sad because I very much like to shake my booty on the dance floor), I am consolling myself with the fact that I know that MMA are going to do another one of these pub crawls in the new year. Make sure to sign up fast because this event was a real winner!

Thanks to Laura for being a fabulous host and handing out all those amazing prizes!!!

It was wonderful meeting so many new friends and I look forward to seeing you at the next event!

Have a great holiday!
