Hello fellow MMA members,

Thank you for taking the time to read my message!!

Let me start by telling you that I'm walking the 60kms for the first time this year! I'm looking to you for support and donations toward research for finding a cure for breast cancer.

Unfortunately I believe that I can say that every one of us knows someone who has or had breast cancer. Breast cancer has touched me and my family too.

My maternal grandmother died due to breast cancer when she was ONLY 38 years old (my mom was 2yrs. old). My mother had a mass removed from one of her breasts when I was younger and is cancer free. And I have had other friends and family members who have had lumps removed.

The recommended age to start getting Mammograms is 40, but due my family history I started going for annual Mammograms last year at the age of 35.

Now I'm trying to raise money towards a cure. The Weekend to End Breast Cancer is a TWO-DAY, 60-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Toronto and I'm participating this year for my very first time. In order to qualify to participate in the walk I HAVE to raise $2,000.00.

Proceeds benefit Princess Margaret Hospital, funding important breast cancer research, education, services and care.
