Join Meet Market Adventures and other singles as we discover Salsa and Merengue and learn to move to the rhythms of the Caribbean.  Salsa and Merengue are extremely popular Latin dance in nightclubs all over the world. 

You’ll be introduced to the hot, Latin music and dance called Merengue, which originated in the Dominican Republic.  

The Merengue is a fun dance and it’s very easy to learn because the music has a steady, strong beat and steps consisting of small forward, backward or circular walks. We’ll move to the beat and add more and more turns, changing partners often, learning how to lead and follow.  

The last 15 minutes  (or more, depending on the class) we’ll learn basic steps to Salsa, another Latin dance that recently has dominated the bar floors all over the world. Basic Salsa steps are little more difficult then Merengue, but easy enough for people with no dance experience! After we learn the basic Salsa steps, we’ll be able to follow similar patterns already learnt in Merengue thus making smoother transition from one dance to another.  You’ll leave the class having had a blast, while experiencing two popular Latin dances.
