Rio, one of the worlds’ most famous cities, and with good reason. No visit to Rio is complete without a trip to the world famous statue of Jesus Christ on the Corcovado mountain, which can be viewed from almost anywhere in the city.

Standing 100 feet high on the mountain, the statue commands the best view in town. We advise getting there early in order to beat not only the crowds but also the haze, which covers the city about mid-morning.

Keep an afternoon free to spend at the golden beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, sunbathing and watching the locals in their element. Visit the many market stalls along the waterfront areas at both beaches. From the beach, head up to Sugarloaf mountain to enjoy a fantastic sunset and a few drinks. Another recommendation is to take a Favela Tour to some of the poorer districts of Rio. It is a very unique and interesting insight into how the local people live.

The Florida Hotel is located just steps from the beach and close to excellent transport connections. Copacabana and most of the tourist landmarks are located nearby. What better location to experience all the excitement of Rio Carnival! It's a comfortable 3 star hotel with a restaurant and 24 hour room service. Additionally there is a rooftop terrace with a swimming pool, bar and fitness centre. All rooms are equipped with air-con, minibar, telephone, private safe, and cable TV.  Included in the price is the famous Brazilian breakfast: Cafe da Manha is a buffet spread of tropical fruits and juices, coffee or tea, breads, cheeses, hams and more. We can organise Carnival tickets upon request. We do not include these in our Rio Carnival accommodation package as experience has shown that clients prefer to arrange their own tickets to suit their individual budgets and preferences. The principal parade takes place at the Sambradrome on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with Sunday traditionally being the most popular night for passengers to party at the Sambadrome. Tickets are available for Sectors 3,4,5,7,9 and 11. Please contact Kumuka if you would like us to send you a plan of the Sambadrome showing location of the various sectors. Your tickets will be available for collection at the Florida Hotel. Tickets are 100% non-refundable.

The price is based on twin share accommodation and same sex single travellers will be allocated together in twin rooms. If you wish to extend your holiday in Rio, extra nights are available on request, either before or after Carnival.
