Join Meet Market Adventures and other adventurous singles for a fun evening of fencing. Instructors at Academie Duello will introduce us to the secrets of the ancient world of European "martial arts" known as swordplay and dueling.

The evening will begin with a demonstration of the basic skills that every fencer needs (footwork, attacks, and blocks/parries). We will have an opportunity to try out a number of different "weapons" including rapiers, long swords, side swords, and of course spend some time (safely) sparing.

Our instructor will also explain important concepts like timing and distance; and how to think and react quickly in constantly changing situations. Fencing has been described as trying to play chess while running the 100-meter dash! Come out and try something new this year!

Price includes: Fencing instruction, certified trainers, all equipment, prizes, taxes.

Participants need to wear gym clothes and good runners and bringing "leather" type gloves is recommended. Please do NOT wear shorts or jeans!
