Join Meet Market Adventures and other Thrill Seeking Singles as we escape our busy lives to spend a fun-filled afternoon of rafting on the Squamish and Elaho rivers. Whether you’ve rafted before or this is your very first time, experienced river guides will teach us all the ins and outs of river and rafting safety as well as the skills needed to maneuver through exciting Class 3-4 rapids including the famous “Devils Elbow” which was used in Mark Burnett’s 1996 Eco Challenge Adventure Race!
Along with some of North America’s most exhilarating rapids, our 2-3 hour river journey will take us through approximately 16 kms of BC’s most inspiring wilderness; including old growth forests, dormant volcanoes, towering glaciers, and stunning waterfalls that cascade hundreds of feet toward the river. A waterproof camera is a must!
Our afternoon won’t all be spent inside the rafts; depending on water levels we’ll also have an opportunity to do some cliff jumping if we choose, swim and float through rapids and show off our balance and cowboy/cowgirl talents in a fun and entertaining “Raft Rodeo” event. We’ll wrap up our white water rafting adventure with a well earned Outback BBQ (delicious vegetarian options are also available) as we share stories and laughs from our afternoon with our new-found friends.
So grab your sense of adventure and spend an afternoon in the great outdoors challenging yourself while taking in some of the country’s most spectacular scenery from a place most people haven’t had the opportunity to do so – riding a raft on the water!

White Water Rafting FAQ’s
1. Do I have to know how to swim?
No. If you happen go for a “swim” your life jacket will keep you afloat. You just sit back and work with the river guide who will direct you to a safe exit point on the shore.
2. What should I wear?
NO COTTON! When cotton gets wet, it stays wet and makes you cold. We suggest some type of technical fabric like polypropylene, dry-fit or active wear.
3. What do I need to bring?
A warm change of clothes, rain gear, swimming shorts, swim suit, sunglasses (with crokies/ties to keep them on), sunscreen, a waterproof camera, and some shoes you can get wet. We suggest either tennis shoes, or a river sandal (Tevas, Chacos.)
4. Should we bring our own food?
No, a snack will be provided on the river and a big riverside meal after the trip. Are you a vegetarian? No problem. The BBQ includes delicious vegetarian options as well.
5. What if I’ve never done this before?
You’re not alone. Many people haven’t. There’s a licensed river guide with us at all times. You’ll have a detailed Safety & Orientation Talk before you even get on the bus. As long as you’re willing to work with others, participate and have FUN, you’ll be fine!
