Join Meet Market Adventures and other adventure seeking singles for a fun day of Back Country Snowshoeing. This trip is spent in the forests of Upstate New York, exploring the incredible wilderness under a blanket of snow. You will be guided through the scenic trails and instructed on how to use your snowshoes. Trek through beautiful rolling hills beneath hardwood and pine forests. Snow shoeing is extremely easy and fun to learn.

For a manageable five miles, you will experience snowshoeing the famed Appalachian Trail up to a picturesque crop of rocks overlooking Canopus Lake. With a sweeping view of Fahnestock State Park as our setting, we will relax for a bit as we enjoy lunch. We will then make our way down to Canopus Lake before completing our route along a craggy path

BRING: Your lunch, plenty of water, backpack/day pack.

Wear: Weather-appropriate athletic clothing (ski jacket or similar outer layer, warm layers (fleece, wicking layer, anything other than cotton), comfortable athletic pants (not jeans), hat, gloves, scarf, hiking or winter boots. A base layer of long johns (poly or silk) is a good idea, as well as an extra pair of socks. Bring more warm layers than you think you need--it is always colder and windier in the mountains than in NYC.

Departure/Return Location: Our passenger vans depart from the NE corner of 73rd St.& Broadway—meet in front of Apple Bank (Subways to 72nd St.: 1,2, 3). Return to same location.

**In the event weather is not suitable for snowshoeing to take place, members will be taken on a guided hike**
