Have you ever wanted to know what it feels like to work with clay on the wheel? Just minutes from the city, we will meet at The Lucky Cat cafe for a quick coffee or tea then head across the street for some fun. We will enter the Choplet studio a novice and walk out an apprentice! All of us will be able to choose what it is that we want to create and with special guidance, will be shown how to create our masterpieces. After our creation is complete, the ceramic will be placed in a 1,800 degree oven which will then be followed by a glaze.

We will also be learning decoration and tiling techniques that will turn ordinary clay into works of art! After we have completed each process, we will leave our pieces at the studio so that they can be fired once again. We will head out into Williamsburgh for a drink or a bite to eat. The studio is open from Tuesday to Sunday and everyone is encouraged to go and pick up their creations a week later. If it takes you more than a week to go and pick up your piece Nadeige Choplet will hold them for you.

WE WILL ALL MEET AT THE LUCKY CAFE before we head over to the Studio for our class.  The Lucky Cafe is located directly across from the Choplet studio. Please follow directions to the studio and you will be lead directly to the cafe.

Directions from the subway:

J,M,Z to Marcy Stop, first stop in Brooklyn, just after crossing the Williamsburg Bridge. The train station is actually on Broadway. Walk 1/4 block to the corner of Broadway and Havemeyer. Make a right on Havemeyer, follow Havemeyer to Grand st. Make a left on Grand st. The studio is one block up at #238. Across the street is The Lucky Cat cafe.

L train to Bedford Ave. You will exit at N7 and Bedford. Take Bedford on your left. After N1 is Grand street. Make a left on Grand. The ceramics studio is one 1/2 block
down at # 238 Grand St.. Across the street is The Lucky Cat Cafe.

G train to Lorimer. Walk down on Metropolitan, pass under the BQE. Follow Metropolitan to Roebling. Make a left on Roebling and a right on Grand St.. The studio is # 238. Across the street is The Lucky Cat cafe.
